4 out of 5 of our local hockey teams will take advantage of home ice this weekend.  As we enter into a new year and winter is now officialy upon us, CNPMH is encouraging everyone to come and enjoy some great hockey.  Watch one of our little Timbits teams in action or check out the RED HOT PeeWees. Yank out grandma and grandpa and catch the Atom and Novice teams as well, as they each come off a 2 game, out of town victory stretch this past weekend.  Our website is updated with all the times for this big weekend, so mark it down and get out of the house.  Zips concession will be open and ready to serve all throughout the weekend.

In addition to our great youth hockey, CNPMH would also like to announce that the Peigan Cowboys will be hosting a Senior "A" mens game on February 11.  This is an excellent chance to see some good old fashion, hard hitting hockey - just like the olden days! 

Red Deer, Alta – Hockey Alberta announced on Friday the U16 female rosters for the eight zone teams that will compete at the 2012 Alberta Winter Games, February 9-12, 2012 in Spruce Grove.

Former Thunder player Mackenzie Fairbrother-Skinner has made the team and will represent the Crowsnest Pass in this epic battle of the best of the best. Mackenzie is a rising star and we are all proud of her continued accomplishments. Good luck Mac!!

On Tuesday October 18th, there will be a special tribute held in memory of Rick Rypien at the Canucks home game.  The game is live on TSN at 6:00pm MST., but there is a chance that the tribute will not actually be on TV. To make sure you do not miss it, you can visit www.canucks.com and it will be streaming live from their website.

Crowsnest Pass Minor Hockey players of all ages during the Thunder Challenge 2011 paid their respects to ex Crowsnest Pass hockey player Rick Rypien.  Players filed into the arena in their Thunder jerseys each proudly wearing Rypien's name on their backs and courageously showcased how much Rick meant to each and every one of them.  There were not many dry eyes in the crowd as Rick's father, Wes and brother, Wes dropped the first puck to kick off this year's event. Fans had their chance to pay tribute as we reflected in Rick's achievements and memory by standing in a moment of silence. One can be certain that Rick's memory will live on in the accomplishments of every minor hockey player in the Crowsnest Pass.

Even though we have had ice in the Crowsnest Pass for a few months now, hockey will officially begin tomorrow!  This year we can boast that we have kids from the ages of 3-13 and both boys and girls.   Games have not yet been scheduled of course but please keep coming back to our website as our managers will be posting games within a few weeks.  If you have a daughter or son that would like to try hockey IT IS NOT TOO LATE.  Please contact our registrar Lisa Larson at lisalu59@hotmail.com and she will be happy to get you started.  Go Thunder Go!!!
