2010 Awards & AGM

The 2010 has come to a close and to finish off the season we will be holding the Awards and AGM on April 25 at 11:00 am in the Elks Hall in Blairmore.  It will be a barbeque/pot luck lunch so please contact your manager with your numbers and find out what your team is required to bring.  Awards and AGM will follow with election of new executives.  Please come and if you can put your name in for one of the open positions.

Atoms Thunder win zone 5 and Head to Provincials

Congratulations to the Atom Thunder who won Zone 5 c division provincials by beating Fort Macleod, Coldale and Okotoks for the right to play in the provincial Tournament last weekend in Viking.  The Thunder then went on to win 2 and tie 1 game to win their pool in the tournament and then win their semi final bought.  Unfortunately they came up short in the final losing to the Marwayne Maddogs.  Way to go Thunder you made our association proud with your success this year.

Pee Wee Thunder Finish Second

The Pee Wee Thunder finished league play in third place after beating Bow Island and then Raymond they tangled with Lethbridge 1.  After losing their first game 7 -1 in Lethbridge game 2 was Thursday night and the boys came out for revenge beating the Lethbridge squad 5 -1.  Game 3 was another barn burner held in Lethbridge on Sunday morning but unfortunately the Thunder lost a close fought battle.  Congratulations to the Thunder for their strong season and playoffs.  best of luck next year

Atoms Thunder win Home Tournament

The Atom Thunder won their home tournament by beating Blackdiamond in a shoot out in the final game.
Way to go boys.

Local PeeWees compete in South PeeWee Challenge

Seven Pee Wee players from the Crowsnest Pass competed in the South Pee Wee Challenge in the Max Bell Arena in Calgary on Jan 2/10.  Marc Sciarra, Jared Koentges, Darrien Pinel, Morgan Yanco,  Kyle Farano, Craig Marshall and Garrett Selensky advanced from the Zone 5 challenge to compete in the South Division finals.  They competed in various skills challenges like hardest shot, fastest skater, accuracy and more.  The event was put on by Hockey Alberta with the top 14 skaters and 2 goalies to advance and compete with the Calgary Flames in their Super Skills in the Saddle Dome.  Unfortunately Morgan Yanco was the only player to advance to the Super Skills competition.  JOB WELL DONE BY ALL PLAYERS. and a job well done by Morgan to represent the pass in the Super Skills.
